Description
The Striving for Excellence Youth (SFE) Program is a youth-driven
program that provides educational, recreational, cultural and life skills
programming to Aboriginal youth within the city of Edmonton.
SFE focuses on enhancing the well being of Aboriginal youth by empowering
them to address their physical, emotional, spiritual and mental needs.

Skills
Facilitator
The
SFE Program offers a Life skills Facilitator to work with Aboriginal. The Life
skills Facilitator is responsible for arranging life skills workshops and
ensuring we meet the needs of the youth as to which workshops would be feasible
and beneficial to the youth. Workshops Offered through the Life skills
Facilitator:
Cultural
and Recreational Activities
The
SFE Program offers a wide variety of Cultural and Recreational programming.
In consultation with elders the SFE program is responsible for arranging and
providing youth with access to appropriate and holistic recreational facilities
and cultural activities.

How
Many Youth Participant in Your Program?
Over
the course of one (1) year, the SFE Program provides service to 50 youth between
the ages of 16 - 24. Since the
inception of this program in 2000, 90 youth have graduated from the SFE Program.
